Trinette Robinson, an 11 year old from Connecticut, has been inducted into Odor-Eaters “Hall of Fumes” for having the smelliest sneaker in the country.
Robinson beat out eight other kids between the age of 6 and 16 at the 35th Annual National Odor-Eaters Rotten Sneaker Contest on March 23, 2010.
The contest, sponsored by Odor-Eaters, judges sneakers based on the conditions of the sole, tongue, heel, toe, laces or velcro, eyelets/grommets, overall condition and, of course, odor, by a panel that includes NASA “Master Sniffer” George Aldrich, Chemical Specialist for NASA space missions and Rachel Herz, Ph.D., author of “The Scent of Desire” and professor at Brown University. Those noses know stink when they smell it.
As a reward for her stinky shoes, Robinson received $2,500 cash, an all-expenses-paid trip to New York and a large amount of Odor-Eaters products to help her with her apparent odor problem.
Champion Robinson attributes her award winning shoe stink to participating in the no–child left inside program which is part of the Department of Environmental protection and that she played hard in Girl Scout Camp as well as doing many local community walks for charity.
Bravo, Robinson, for stinking up your shoes for good causes. You deserve your trip, and I think everyone around you deserves your promise you’ll give your new Odor-Eater products a shot.
