Most of us remember what it’s like to throw a party while your parents are out of town, but for one 18 year old in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts it was a nightmare. The teenager, who was staying with relatives in Weymouth while his parents, Jill and Daniel Abbett, were on a trip to Paris, says he could not stop the 60 plus teenagers who decided to use his house for a raging party. According to Jill Abbett, “Car load after car load after car load. And they have totally turned our life upside down. They have absolutely 100 percent destroyed the house.”
The police said that the kids were using Facebook to promote what they were calling a “rager,” allegedly from the Abbett’s own home computer. But this was no ordinary high school blow out. The officer who responded to the scene said that, “Blood, urine on the floors, food thrown out the house, walls were ruined, stairs spindles, ceiling fans ripped down.” Jill Abbett continues, “They destroyed the doors and bathroom doors kicked through the ceilings and the walls, urinated in every room of the house and in all the drawers and in all the beds.” The instigators of the party also stole Daniel Abbett’s truck and many of the valuable items in the home.
The perpetrators weren’t shy about what they’d done. One of the kids started a Facebook fan page called “Home-Wrecker Crew.” They may think twice though, with police starting to make what they say are only the first of many arrests. So far, four of the teens have been arrested and charged with felony destruction of property.
