‘Pokemon Black and White’ Coming Soon

By Bridget Tyler on April 9th, 2010

Late Thursday night Nintendo announced the next chapter of the Pokemon series.  This latest game, “Pokemon Black and White” promises to be entirely new, unlike the last two new games in the Pokemon world, which were mostly rehashes of older versions.

Pokemon, now five “generations” old, hasn’t changed much since it first started capturing the hearts of gamers young and old.  It’s still all about capturing and taking care of adorable imaginary creatures who battle each other in kid friendly gladiator matches. Nintendo has added some new layers to the classic game structure, including a Pokewalker pedometer that converts real life exercise into in-game rewards.

“Pokemon Black and White” will be released in Japan this fall, with no western release date set as of yet.  The Pokemon games often take a while to make it across the Pacific, partially because translating the game for American players is a lengthy process.  Details about what the game will include are slim.  We do know that the new title will include brand new Pokemon.  So far, Nintendo has only shared two of the new critters.  Jiroa and it’s evolved for Jiroaaku.  Those are the new creature’s Japanese names, fans will have to wait and see how they are translated.  A few have already suggested Zorua and Zoroark may be the translated version.  Black and White will come out for Nintendo DS, not 3DS, so don’t expect the sparring cuties to be in 3-D quite yet.  More information will be released on April 15th on the official Japanese Pokemon site, so stay tuned!!

I am actually looking forwards to these new games but I actually hope they come up with better names for the crimial team if there is going to be one, and the region and the main characters! but overall I want it already but I think they should change the english translation of the games, no offence but it seems a bit racist. :)

I disagree Edward. The names of the games, aren’t racist at all. It’s only racist because you want it to be.
