Mother’s Day 2010 is Sunday, May 9!

By Christie on April 27th, 2010

Mothers Day 2010Mother’s Day is just 11 days away! May 9, or the second Sunday in May, marks the one official day of the year when kids everywhere express how much they love and appreciate their mothers.

Whether you’re a new mother, a mom-to-be, or a mother with adult kids, this is your day to relax and get pampered by your family – so take advantage of it! As much as mom’s deserve it, the reality is that most mothers don’t actually get to stop their routines for a whole day to relax and enjoy their day. But, you can enjoy Mother’s Day a little more this year with a few tips to keep in mind.

Ask for what you want

Your best bet for getting what you want this Mother’s Day? Ask for it! Make it simple for everyone and ask your family for exactly what you’d appreciate most. Think about requesting time for a long, uninterrupted bath with a good book, or maybe a quiet night in alone with your partner while your kids attend a sleepover at grandma’s house.

If you’d love to get a gift, subtly suggest to an adult family member a present that kids can afford or find easily – it could be as simple as a bouquet of wildflowers, a specially-made Mother’s Day craft, or a bottle of your favorite perfume.

Plan it yourself (yes, really!)

It sounds a little counter-intuitive, but planning your own celebration can make it that much easier to do what you want on Mother’s Day. Gather up the kids, your own mom and family, and head out to a pot-luck picnic, or consider a family outing to the museum, art gallery or science center. There are lots of activities to choose from – and the best part is, you get to pick!

Somewhere between the laundry, grocery shopping, peace-keeping, cooking, and, let’s be real here – most likely your full-time job, we hope you get a chance to sit back and reflect on your amazing feats of mothering and bask in your children’s love – on your own terms.

New video relay service iPhone 4 app for deaf and hard of hearing.(HEARING IMPAIRED PHONE AIDS)

The Hearing Review January 1, 2011 Dallas-based AT&T has released a new video (VRS) app for iPhone 4 that allows deaf and hard of hearing customers to make VRS calls.

[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] AT&T VRS is a free service that allows a person who uses American Sign Language (ASL) to place a relay call to a hearing person by communicating through a certified ASL interpreter.

AT&T has offered video relay services to customers for many years, but the new AT&T VRS app reportedly provides a more flexible and convenient way for users to make VRS calls on the go. iPhone 4 customers can make unlimited VRS calls using the AT&T VRS app at no additional cost, according to the company.

The feature is available only with the iPhone 4 because of its “FaceTime” video phone feature that is unavailable on previous iPhone versions. FaceTime allows iPhone 4 users to speak and see each other using the iPhone 4’s built-in camera. here iphone 4 apps

To use the app, users must first enable a Wi-Fi connection, as FaceTime will not currently work through AT&T’s 3G or Edge network alone.

Once connected to Wi-Fi, users launch the VRS app, log-in, and can choose to place a VRS call by selecting someone from their contact list or by manually dialing a number. The app then contacts an AT&T ASL interpreter, who initiates a FaceTime video call with the user. The interpreter will connect the ASL user to the hearing person they are calling, and relays the conversation between the two parties through ASL.

In addition to the app, AT&T VRS also offers a free software download called AT&T Video Link that turns a computer or laptop into a video phone. This software works on certain Macs and PCs enabled with a Web cam and a broadband connection. this web site iphone 4 apps

AT&T VRS will also provide users with a 10-digit telephone number andsupports all the FCC-required 911 emergency capabilities.

The AT&T VRS app is available for free from the App Store on iPhone or at www.itunes.com/appstore. For additional information about AT&T VRS, visit www. att.com/vrs, or access AT&T VRS via video phone at ATTVRS.tv.
