Baby animals of all kinds are cute, but foals have a special kind of magic to them in their combination of the majestic dignity of a horse and the aw inspiring gangliness that is universal to babies. When you take all the special charm of a baby horse and pack it into 6 pounds and 14 inches of adorableness, it’s almost too much to handle.
Meet Einstein, a new born Pinto stallion whose owner believes him to be the world’s smallest horse. He’s also potentially the worlds cutest animal EVER, and those of you who are fans of Cute Overload and LOLcat know that’s saying something. Einstein was born in New Hampshire on April 22nd. He weighed 6 pounds at birth. He stands about 14 inches tall. Pictures of Einstein being cuddled like a puppy by a 4 year old and standing next to a confused Saint Bernard make it clear exactly how tiny this tiny horse really is.
Of course, Einstein’s owners are submitting him to the Guinness Book of World records. Not only is he considerably smaller than the current record holder, Thumbelina, he shows none of the signs of dwarfism that most of the tiny horses on record do. Einstein is perfectly proportioned, just like a full sized horse, but in miniature. His owners feared for his survival when he was born, but Einstein is thriving.
