The Step2 Company along with the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission have issued a voluntary recall of the ‘Basic Rythym Drums’ product because some pieces may break and can be a choking hazard to children. More than 21,000 of the toys that were purchased should be returned to the place of purchase for a refund.
This recall involves ‘Step2 Basic Rhythm Drums’ intended for preschool age children. The toy drum is sold with two drumsticks that can be stored in clips on the side of the drum. The plastic clips can break and the pieces can be swallowed and choked on by small children. A red “Step2″ logo in printed on the side of the drum.
The products were sold in stores nationwide and in Canada from August 2009 through March 2010 for between $10 and $15. For more information on this recall you can go to the Step2 website or call 866-860-1887.
