Duggar Number 19 Joins the Family Show on Mother’s Day

By Bridget Tyler on May 7th, 2010

The DuggarsJosie Brooklyn Duggar is joining her famously huge family on their reality show “19 Kids and Counting” just in time for their Mother’s Day special.  Josie is now 5 pounds, 14oz in weight, up 4 pounds and 8 ounces from her birth weight of just 1 pound, 6 ounces.  Josie was born nearly three months premature, on December 10th.  She’s doing well, though “never trust a premie” is a constant reminder to her parents, and viewers, the premature babies often have drastic health reversals with little warning.

Though the idea of having MORE than 19 children is a bit staggering, Josie’s mom Michelle seems open to it in an exclusive interview with www.parentdish.com.  ”I’m 43 right now and I know my time clock is ticking so I may be able to have more, I don’t know. We are so grateful for the ones we have and I couldn’t imagine life without one of these. They represent a future home one day, and will do whatever God calls for them to do in life. I would be thrilled to have more if God sees fit, but we take it one day at a time. Our focus is on Josie right now.”

Michelle isn’t just a new mom, she’s also a new grandmother.  Her oldest son, Josh, and his wife Anna, had their first child, Mackynzie, in October. Michelle is delighted with Mackynzie, who she describes as a “rolly polly grandbaby.”

Michelle is letting her family surprise her for Mother’s Day – she says, “I don’t want to mess things up so I don’t ask any questions because my little guys will say something they shouldn’t, so I don’t ask.” We’re sure whatever they’re planning, it’ll be full baby love!

Yes, it does seem a little weird.

um, not sure, but shouldn’t they consider the fact that baby Josie was born dangerously premature a HUGE signal that maybe their baby-making days should be done?
