RECALL – Almost 300,000 Conair Hair Dryers Recalled

By Jeremy Suede on May 11th, 2010

Conair Hair DryerConair Corp and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have issued a recall of 291,000 Conair hair dryers because they may break and cause injury.  The spinning fan inside the dryer can break apart, striking the plastic shell causing it to shatter, creating a hazard.  Not only could the shattered plastic cut or get in the eye, but the open hair dryer could cause hair to get entangled within.  Conair has received 16 reports of the fan breaking as well as reports of the hair dryers sparking and smoking. One person sought medical attention for a laceration to the hand, seven people reported minor cuts.

The names and model numbers affected are listed below:

  • Babyliss Pro Mighty Mini (blue, pink, white) – BABMMB052T, BABMMP052T, BABMMW052T
