RECALL – Bracelets Sold At Claire’s Stores Toxic

By Jeremy Suede on May 11th, 2010

Claires Bracelets Recall The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Claire’s Boutiques Inc., are issuing a recall of the ”Best Friends” Charm Bracelet Sets because they contain high levels of cadmium which can be toxic if ingested by a child.  More than 19,000 bracelet sets are affected by this recall and consumers are urged to immediately take the items away from children and return them to any Claire’s for a full refund or replacement.

The “Best Friends” three bracelet sets are silver colored chains with metal pendants containing one of the words “Best,” “Friends” or “Forever” and heart lock and key charms with different colored stones.  They were sold at Claire’s stores nationwide from February 2009 through January 2010 for about $12.

For more information contact Claire’s at their website or at 866-859-9281.

One of the main problems with recalled jewelry is that it can be really hard to identify and hard to trace once it has been purchased. WeMakeItSafer is a start up business that has an amazing recalled product search tool. See the search results for childrens jewelry here: http://bit.ly/a6KCBi
