GE Coffee Maker Recall

GE coffee makers are being recalled today after concerns that the units can overheat and cause fires.

According to an announcement by Walmart and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the General Electric company has issued a major recall of over 900,000 12-cup digital coffee makers. So far, Walmart has received 83 reports of overheating, smoking, melting, burning and fire.

Check out the model numbers included in the GE coffee maker recall: 169164 and 169165.  The were models sold exclusively in Walmart from March 2008 to January 2010, and you can check the serial numbers on the base of the coffee maker unit.
