Celine Dion and her husband/manager Rene Angelil announced today that they are expecting twins later this year.
The news comes as a surprise to many because the happy couple had been trying for years for another child.
Heartache struck the Dion/Angelil family late last year when Celine announced in October that they were expecting a baby in May. In November, it was announced that Celine had miscarried and she and Rene were devastated.
We’re happy to hear that Celine and Rene are expecting twins. Rene released this statement regarding the exciting news:
“We’re ecstatic. Celine is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing.”
Celine finally became pregnant after undergoing six in-vitro fertilizations and acupuncture treatments. The couple have a 9-year-old son together, Rene-Charles.
Celine and Rene plan to find out the sex of the two bundles of joy on June 10!
