The Muppets are coming back to the big screen! Jason Segal of “How I Met Your Mother” fame and his “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” co-writer Nick Stoller have created a new adventure for our fine, furry and felted friends that will send the world’s most famous puppets all over the world to bring their comrades back together to put on a show to save “Muppet Studios” from an evil Texas oil tycoon.
In a recent interview at the “Get Him to The Greek” junket, Jenna Bush of the Movie Phone Minute grilled Stoller about which unusual Muppets might be joining the cast of the new movie. Stoller credits Muppet movie director James Bobin with the idea to include Uncle Deadly. Uncle Deadly, for those of you who are not as well versed in Muppets as Bobin, who Stoller says knows more about Muppets than anyone he’s ever met, is a dragon-like monster who is also known as the Phantom of the Muppet Show.
The new Muppet movie, which has a working title of “The Best Muppet Movie Ever Made,” is currently listed with a release date of 2012. We can’t wait to see what Stoller, Segal and Bobin, who are all extremely talented and all passionately love the Muppets, have cooked up!!
