The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium is thrilled to introduce the world to a brand new pair of some of the rarest babies on Earth – their new Sumatran Tiger cubs.  There are only a few hundred Sumatran Tigers left in the wild, and only 74 in captivity in America, so these little guys are super stars of the endangered species world.

The cubs parents, Bali and Jaya, had a bit of an awkward romance.  But Bali eventually figured out what to do, and the zoo’s specialists managed the tricky feet of giving a female tiger an ultrasound to confirm that twin cubs were on the way.  Sadly, at the same time, they discovered that Bali has cancer.  He’s receiving chemotherapy, and the zoo staff, and endangered species specialists everywhere, can only hope that they’ll be able to save this rare fertile male from an early grave.

Meanwhile, check out the future of Bali’s species, who also happen to be to be an overdose of tiny fury cuteness you and your kids won’t want to miss!
