Yahoo got an exclusive sneak peek look at the new ”Smurfs” live action/computer animated 3D movie. When they say “peek” they mean it. The clip couldn’t be shorter, but we’re still excited! First of all, we have to give them credit for mocking the “Transformers” trailers, which is kind of a genius twist. Second of all, Neil Patrick Harris introduces the teaser, which serves to remind us that he’s the human star of the film and the idea of Neil Patrick Harris hanging out with these famous tiny blue dudes is way exciting.
The Smurfs will start their first live action venture in their original setting – a forest in Europe in the Middle Ages. While running from an attack by their enemy Gargamel (played by Hank Azaria) some of the Smurfs will stumble on a portal that takes them to present day Central Park. Lost in New York they’ll befriend several humans, including Harris and “Glee” star Jayma Mays, and do battle with Gargamel. We can’t wait to see more!
