Last week, Walt Disney World announced plans for ‘Golden Oaks’ a residential resort on Disney’s Orlando, Florida property. Located southeast of the Magic Kingdom, and north of Epcot, the single family homes were even designed by Walt Disney Imagineers!
There is one catch though – single family homes are priced between $1.5 and $8 million. *tear*
If you are lucky enough to be able to afford one of these, the community will have a private clubhouse, concierge service, and Disney benefits including “private VIP transportation, access to select special-event tickets and community-hosted activities.”
With less than 30 homes available for sale this year, many people have asked Disney about whether or not the homes will be snatched up by people hoping to rent them as vacation homes, rather than to actually live there themselves.
To prevent that from happening, the Inside the Magic website is reporting that only long-term rentals – those longer than 6 months – will be allowed at Golden Oak.
No word yet on whether free park admission is included with the purchase of a Golden Oak home. But if you have the $1.5 million minimum purchase price, I don’t think you’re too concerned.
Any buyers?
