Just a few short weeks ago, Princess Abby, a four-year-old purebred Chihuahua was named the World’ Ugliest Dog at the 22nd Annual Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, California. PopCrunch.com reports that “with piles of personality, a unique look, and some unusual dance moves, the 6-pound canine easily won the title.”
Her owner, Francis, of Clearlake California adopted Abby only 5 months ago from a local veterinarian. She was reportedly shocked when the judges announced that her beloved dog beat out the other pets to earn a $1,000 cash prize, and capture the World’s Ugliest Dog, title. Princess Abby’s win also earned her a modeling contract with House of Dog in Los Angeles.
However, despite her win, Francis says, “I don’t think she’s ugly at all. I think she’s the most beautiful dog,” she gushed.
To earn the prize, Princess Abby reportedly had to beat out last year’s champion, Pabst, a boxer mix and 2002 champion, a Chinese Crested named, Rascal.
