The iPad is marketed for general web and email use, and also the consumption of media, like books, movies, music and games. One awesome side effect? It can also create some really amazing works of art!
Tuaw reports that the iPad is becoming “a natural tool for many artists to use, and the public is now starting to see the fruits of the relationship in the form of some startling and beautiful digital art.”
England’s Kyle Lambert is a great example of this. The portrait artist recently spend a total of 6 hours painting an amazingly life like portrait of Beyonce Knowles. His tools? An iPad, his finger, and a brushes application that is available for the device.
Best of all he creates time-lapse films of his portrait creations. It’s really fascinating to see the picture come to life! Check it out, below:
On his website, Lambert writes, “My artwork combines traditional painting techniques with cutting edge technology to produce rich, realistic portraits and character based concepts and designs. The iPad expands the possibilities for artists like myself to take digital artwork creation away from the computer and out into the world.”
