Critics are calling it “heartwarming” and “lovable,” reports The Marque Blog, and we’ve got no doubt Despicable Me is going to be a popular choice for theater goers this weekend.
Featuring the voices of the hilarious Steve Carell, Jason Segel and Russell Brand, Gru, a would-be super villain (voiced by Carell) sets his sights on stealing the moon. That scheme requires (obviously) the use of a shrink gun, so Gru hatches a scheme to take it from a top-secret lab only to almost immediately have the shrink gun stolen from him by his nerdy new rival (Segal).
Wikipedia explains, Gru delights in all things wicked. With his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand on his way. That is, until he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him in a way no one has ever done before: as a potential dad.

The Toronto Star writes, “If Despicable Me wasn’t arriving so soon after Toy Story 3 – Pixar’s latest triumph in the eyes of critics and tykes alike — it wouldn’t have any real competition of its own this season.”
Personally, I can’t wait to see it!
