President Barack Obama’s appearance on ABC’s The View today has been a controversial topic this week and his answer to one of Barbara Walter’s tough questions might have him in hot water again.
The President’s priorities have been questioned several times over the past few months. His decision to go on a vacation with his family during the intense financial crisis and the devastating oil spill has left many up in arms and bordeline furious.
Now, after his controversial answer to Barbara Walters question “In the last month, what has been the rose and what has been the thorn?” Obama will have to do some more explaining to defend his answer.
As you can see in this clip relased (see video below) instead of addressing the progress of the oil spill clean – up or take the opportunity to praise his efforts on improving healthcare, Barack Obama chose to focus on his family – particularly his two daughters Sasha and Malia.
“In the last month the rose has to be the couple of days we took in May…with Michelle and Sasha and Malia. We went on bike rides and hikes and, you know, the girls are getting old enough now where they’re not quite teenagers so they still like you, uh, but they’re full of opinions and ideas and observations…and it couldn’t have been a better few days.”
While we at Kidglue respect Obama’s dedication to his family, others criticize the President for losing focus of his duties and focusing too much on his family. And, in his defense, Barbara did preface the question by tlking about his family.
As most men and women in America, President Barack Obama is struggling to balance work and family life.
Do you think Obama’s answer to Barbara Walters’ question was inappropriate?
