Sex tapes, scandals and now a very public overdose have left former American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino in the middle of controversy this week.
The 26-year-old mom was rushed to the hospital Monday night after overdosing on aspirin and a sleep aid. Her manager Brian Dickens confirmed the incident releasing this statement to the public:
“Her injuries are not life threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time. Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon.”
The confirmed overdose comes just days after rumors surfaced that Fantasia was having an affair with a married man and there was a sex tape of their sexual endeavors.

After the overdose many wondered whether the incident was intentional or accidental but, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the incident was classified as a suicide attempt.
Fantasia is a single parent to her only daughter, Zion, who turned 9 on Sunday.
