12-Year-Old Golfer, Brad Dalke, Gets University Scholarship for 2016!

By AAyles on August 18th, 2010

He may only be 12 years old but aspiring golfer Brad Dalke has already committed to playing college golf at the University of Oklahoma in 2016.

The pre-teen was promised a full scholarship, after being ranked #1 in the 2016 class and 514 in the overall Golfweek/Sagarin Junior Rankings.

Brad spoke to the Dallas Daily News where he revealed his excitement about joining the University:

“Oklahoma has watched me three times,” Brad said. “When I found out they were interested in me, I figured I ought to go ahead and commit now. That’s the only place I want to go. There’s no way I would change my mind as long as I get a good scholarship like they’ve been saying.”

The seventh-grader’s private coach, Joey Wuertemberger spoke about the talent and skills of the up-and-coming athlete:

“Brad’s 12 in about a 16-year-old’s body. He’s legit. He can overpower courses with just his length. At Pinehurst, he was hitting his driver 30 and 40 yards past the other 12-year-olds. Brad was hitting 8, 9 [irons] and pitching wedges into holes when other kids weren’t hitting the greens or had to use fairway woods.”

Just last weekend Brad won the US Kids Golf World Championship in Pinehurst North Carolina by a whopping 4 strokes.

Look like a promising future for this talented young man.

Just don’t follow in the footsteps of Tiger Woods!

Do you think 12 is too early to commit to a University?
