Bristol Palin is continuing her television career – this time as a member of the “star” cast of the ABC reality hit, “Dancing with the Stars.” E! Online broke the story on Thursday morning. Bristol will be joining Florence Henderson of “Brady Bunch” fame, “Dirty Dancing” star Jennifer Grey, ex-NBA star Rick Fox and comedienne Margaret Cho according to AccessHollywood.
It has been previously reported that the cast will also include, David Hasselhoff, Brandy, “Hills” star Audrina Patridge, former NFL star Kurt Warner, singer Michael Bolton and “Jersey Shore” star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. Kirstie Alley was also rumored to be joining the cast, but she has denied the possibility rather firmly.
“Lol… Just a rumor… Imagine that. NOT doing DWTS this season… Way too chicken!! Maybe next season if Im invited again!!!” She tweeted.
The final line up will be announced on August 30th, during ABC’s “Bachelor Pad.”
Hopefully this will be a positive way for Palin to make use of all the press attention she’s gotten since she became America’s most famous teenage mother. Many have questioned whether or not giving Palin all of the attention she’s gotten, from the tabloids to a guest spot on “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” to a PSA about teen pregnancy staring Palin, is sending the right message to other teenage girls who are considering becoming sexually active. Is it wise to dub Palin a “star” because she got pregnant at 16?
Whether or not it sends a good message to other teens, we can only hope being on the show will be a positive experience for Ms. Palin.
