Penelope Cruz has played countless characters in many memorable movies over the years and now the world renowned actress is going to be playing the role of “mommy” in real life.
Cruz, 36, and her husband Javier Bardem, 41, have confirmed that they will be expecting their little bundle of joy in late January or early February of 2011.
Rumors of a pregnant Penelope started circulating after photos of the brunette beauty sporting a small baby bump surfaced this week. A rep for the couple has confirmed that Cruz is 4 ½ months pregnant.
Javier and Penelope married in July of 2010 in the Bahamas. It doesn’t take a mathematician to figure out that Penelope was about 2 months pregnant at the time of the wedding.
Despite the fact that many are now referring to the ceremony as a shotgun wedding, the couple has been together since 2007 and had spoken of plans to marry before Penelope became pregnant.
