Is this what the world is coming to?
A 6-year-old girl was kicked out of the cheerleading league after her mom (Jennifer Tesch) refused to let her sing a cheer that she believed had sexual references.
The lyrics of the chant are:
“Our backs ache, our skirts are too tight, we shake our booties from left to right…”
The mom of the 6-year-old girl who was removed from the team believed that the chant was too sexual for such a young group of girls.
Opinions as to whether or not the choice to remove the little girl from the league was the right one are mixed so we want to know what you think.
Are the lyrics above too risqué for a 6-year-old?
I actually remember this chant from when I was a kid. They definitely spiced up the lyrics. Here’s how I remember it going:
“Our backs ache, our belts are too tight, we shake our hips from left to right…”
I guess Don Henley was right: This is the end of the innocence.
