Most eight year olds with business ambitions turn their eyes to lemonade, newspaper routes, lawn mowing and garage cleaning. But, then again, most eight year olds aren’t the progeny of one of the world’s most famous soccer players and one of the world’s most famous fashion plates.
Romeo is, at least according to the U.K. Mirror’s sources, excited about the project, which mirror’s his mother’s new line of sunglasses, dVb.
“Romeo has a real eye for fashion,” a source told the paper. ”He has strong opinions on what works and what doesn’t, and has been badgering David and Victoria for months about designing his own sunglasses.
“It is no passing whim — Victoria said she’d only back the project if he was certain he wanted to do it.
“There is a gap in the market for designer kids’ shades that are 100 percent UV protected and trendy.
“The glasses are made especially for children and will have a cool ‘RB’ motif on one arm. The range was originally going to be called Bambino Beckham.
“Both Victoria and David are delighted.”
Apparently, Romeo’s line will be called RB and he’ll be recruiting other celebrity kids like Suri Cruise to help him show off the new line. There’s no word yet on what pricing for the line will be.
The question is, will kids who aren’t celebrity fashion plates go for designer sun wear? Would you buy designer sunglasses for kids who are certain to out grow the purchase in months? That is, if they haven’t lost or broken them first?
