Justin Bieber to Take a Stand Against Bullying and Homophobia

By Heather B on October 18th, 2010

After an incident at a Canadian laser tag Friday night, teen sensation Justin Bieber is expected to lend his support to an ongoing anti-bullying campaign.

TMZ reports that the announcement could come as early as this week.

Justin was confronted by a 12-year old boy while playing laser tag, and things got heated when the boy called Justin “a faggot.”  TMZ writes that “the boy repeated the comment and then put his hand out toward Bieber and Bieber pushed it away and left.”

A rep for the singer told police what happened and the statement has been confirmed by witnesses.  Police are investigating the incident, but have already concluded that Justin was not the instigator.

Perez Hilton reports that Justin voluntarily left the laser tag after the altercation took place.

Interestingly, Bieber’s reps wanted to keep quiet the specifics of the altercation, but Justin felt it was important for people to know exactly what happened.

If you or someone else is being bullied, it gets better!  You can also visit the Trevor Project to talk to someone who will listen and understand without passing judgment.  You’re not alone.
