Jennifer Lopez’s two and a half year old twins, Max and Emme, are making their modelling debut in style. They’re the faces of Gucci’s new children’s line. They will appear in ads for the line along with their mother, who deeply enjoyed working with her children.
“It’s the first time I have worked with my kids in that way,” Lopez, 40, tells the new Us Weekly in an article that accompaned the photo’s debut. “It was a totally special experience.”
To celebrate the collection’s launch, and, perhaps, to make the $80-$1,600 price tags for kid’s clothes feel more palatable in a world where many are struggling financially, Gucci donated one million dollars to UNICEF’s Schools for Africa initiative and $50,000 to Lopez’s charity the Maribel Initiative. The Maribel Initiative promotes greater access to healthy care for women and children around the world.
“It’s exactly why I’m excited to be a part of this,” says Lopez. She and husband, Marc Anthony, were reluctant to put their children in the spotlight until they heard about the charity angle. “Now there are two Gucci spokesbabies for a beautiful cause!”
Lopez tells Us the twins seemed to enjoy the shoot.
“I did a photo shoot when they were 3 weeks old, but now that they are 2 1/2, it’s totally different!”
Lopez believes that Emme is already starting to show signs that she’s inherited her mother’s fashion sense. She told Us, “Emme picks out her own outfits and likes to sleep in her princess dress.” As for her son, “It’s hard to get Max dressed. He prefers to run around the house with no clothes on.”
