Sadly, Lily Allen has announced that she has again suffered the heartbreak of losing a baby during pregnancy.
Lily’s rep confirmed to British newspaper, The Sun, that the singer was 6-months pregnant. This miscarriage is her second in two-and-half-years.
“It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby,” her rep said in a statement. “The couple asks that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comments will be made.”
Lily first announced her pregnancy in August, excitedly tweeting a picture of herself holding up a newspaper showing the good news. The baby, a boy, was due in January.
Lily was rushed to the hospital Thursday morning with stomach pains, and doctors were unable to save her baby.
The singer’s first miscarriage came almost three years ago during her relationship with Chemical Brothers musician Ed Simmons.
Lily has previously said that having children is “ultimately [her] main goal” in life.
