Demi Lovato’s camp may have told the press that the 18-year-old starlet admitted herself to rehab for personal issues but new reports have surfaced revealing the true reasons behind Demi’s cry for help.
Brian Payne, a college student who claims he partied with Demi Lovato when she was 17 years old, told Life & Style that Lovato “was doing line after line [of cocaine] like a pro – and she was 17 at the time.”
He continues, “I just remember her doing it as if she had been doing it for a long time. It didn’t seem like something new to her.”
His recount comes from a hard night of partying on Dec. 28, 2009. Brian says he, Demi and a group of friends were partying at a mutual friend’s house when he was shocked to see the Disney star so out of control.
Brian also revealed that Demi ended up getting hot and heavy with the owner of the home, who later died in a watersport accident. The loss of her friend fuelled her depression and partying and played a large part in Demi’s downward spiral.
Another insider tells the magazine “She’ll chug booze straight from the bottle.”
The 18-year-old actress/singer won’t be of legal drinking age in the US for another 3 years but that apparently hasn’t made her immune from the pressures to fit into the Hollywood norms.
We hope Demi gets the help she needs in rehab. And maybe a break from Hollywood upon her release wouldn’t be such a bad idea either…
