Former star of ABC’s perennial favorite, The Bachelorette, Jen Schefft, gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Saturday, November 13th. Mae Elizabeth Waterman is Schefft’s first child with husband Joe Waterman.
“She was 7-pounds even at 20 inches,” Schefft tells UsMagazine.com exclusively. “She and her mommy are home now and doing great!”
Schefft showed Us around the new arrival’s Alice in Wonderland themed nursery in October – you can check out the video of the adorable room above. Decked out with tea cups, silver spoons and shabby chic baby furniture it feels like stepping into a tiny tots version of the Mad Hatter’s garden party – which is exactly what Schefft tells Us she was going for.
Schefft may have earned her role as minor celebrity looking for love on national television, but she found it off screen in Waterman, a fellow PR exec that she married in May 2009. Waterman and Schefft met on a blind date in 2008.
Schefft’s first turn on the Bachelor/Bachelorette series was as a contestant – she won the affection of the third bachelor, Andrew Firestone, but after their relationship ended producers called her back to have her own season. She turned down a proposal from her winning suitor, Jerry Ferris.
