Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber took the American Music Awards by storm Sunday night. The 16-year old singer swept the AMAs, winning all 4 of the awards he was nominated for.
“I can’t stop smiling,” the singer gushed, talking about his remarkable rise to fame as he took to the stage to accept his ‘Breakthrough Album’ prize. “This is amazing. I’m from the smallest town in the world, of like, 30,000 people. I never thought this was possible.”
Thanking everyone from his family and fans to Michael Jackson, Justin took home awards for ‘Favorite Male Pop/Rock Artist,’ ‘Favorite Pop/Rock Album,’ ‘T-Mobile Breakthrough Album of the Year’ and even the coveted ‘Artist of the Year’ trophy.
Justin bested Eminem, Lady Gaga and Usher to win the Artist of the Year category. Accepting his award, the tween sensation called his mentor and “best friend” Usher to the stage saying, “I’ve been singing Eminem since I was 3, and Usher’s my mentor.”
Both Usher and Eminem walked away with two awards each.
Justin Bieber’s latest album, ‘My World 2.0’ has sold almost 2 million copies in the United Sates.
