Blink 182 rocker Travis Barker is fighting the war on drugs with his weapon of choice – a drum kit. And he’s started by donating a whole bunch of drum sets to New York City schools.
The musician has partnered with fellow punk rocker Toby Morse (from the band H20) to promote sober living through music to young students in the New York City area. Through Toby’s ‘One Life One Chance’ organization, Travis has pledged to donate 10 – 20 full drum kits per year to schools, starting Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Gramercy Arts High School.
Their message is simple – living a healthy lifestyle is cool, and not all rockers do drugs.
‘One Life One Chance’ strives to break the stereotypes of what it means to live a cool lifestyle. The organization’s mission is to engage and inspire elementary, middle and high school students to make healthy choices and live a drug free life.
