Transformers Dark of the Moon Trailer (Watch!)

By Heather B on December 9th, 2010

The trailer for ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ debuted online Wednesday, as the rumored final installment of the ‘Transformers’ trilogy is set to hit theaters this July.

The trailer is big, but features surprisingly few ‘bots – or well known characters for that matter.  Instead the teaser focuses on scientists and the historic 1969 mission to the moon, taking actual footage from the historic event and intermingling it with the film’s version of events.

In the trailer, as the astronauts enjoy the world of zero gravity they come across an enormous space craft that has crashed.

Star of the ‘Transformer’s’ films, Shia LaBeouf told MTV that ‘Dark of the Moon’ is the best movie of the franchise.

“The script is the best script we’ve had.  The second movie, we were in the middle of a writers’ strike, writing on the go,” he explained.  “The first movie, we had the discovery, and this movie is really the fruition of the rhythm we’ve created out of five years of working together.  I’m super proud of this movie.”

Shia, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson are all set to reprise their starring roles, while Megan Fox has been replaced by model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who signed on to play Sam’s love interest in the film.
