Former ‘View’ co-host Lisa Ling will return to ‘The View’ Friday, revealing to her former co-workers that she suffered a miscarriage six months ago.
“I felt more like a failure than I’d felt in a very long time,” Lisa said in the interview [via PEOPLE]. She was 7-weeks pregnant when doctors told her that her baby had no heartbeat.
Up until that moment, Lisa admits, she had been “sort of cavalier” about pregnancy.
“We actually [hadn’t] been trying that long. I don’t know that I took it as seriously as I should have because it happened to fast,” the news correspondent revealed. “But then when I heard the doctor say there was no heartbeat it was like bam, like a knife through the heart.”
Though the experience left her devastated, Lisa says she wanted to talk about her miscarriage to help alleviate the stigma associated with them.
The former ‘View’ host has also started a website, SecretSocietyOfWomen.com, which allows women to share their own personal stories – “a place where we can divulge our deepest secrets about how we look, what we regret, who we fantasize about, what we aspire to do, or whatever else we’ve been keeping inside of us,” the website writes.
