Good news Justin Bieber fans – Selena Gomez is not dating the pop star!
The couple – rumored to be the hottest teen hookup since Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake – are actually ‘just friends.’ At least, that’s what Selena told MTV News on Friday, totally denying that her recent Philadelphia outing to ‘The International House of Pancakes’ with Justin was a date.
“It was pancakes. Who doesn’t like pancakes?” Selena asked MTV. “We were both performing in the same place so we went and had pancakes together. That’s all it is. All innocent.”
Photographers caught Selena and Justin leaving the breakfast joint “ARM-IN-FRICKIN-ARM!!!” TMZ writes, with sources revealing that the pair looked “cuddly” and that they sat on the same side of a booth.”
However, Selena insists that Justin is more like a brother to her, as she started looking out for the teen idol as his career launched toward superstardom.
“I love Justin. When he first started to come over from Canada his manager contacted me and he just said that he would like to meet me and how he was just such a good kid,” Selena explained. “And I feel like a big sister now, cause I want to protect him. So I’m always very cautious with him, but he is so talented and so sweet, so that just started us wanted to work together. Now he’s just become one of my good friends.”
