Pop sensation Justin Bieber is known worldwide as a singer, but true ‘Beliebers’ know that the teenage star got his start on the drums.
New video featured in Justin’s 3D biopic, ‘Never Say Never’ shows family footage of the would-be pop star banging away on everything from a mini conga drum to a plastic drum set – even a chair!
“I just never thought of it being anything other than for fun,” Justin’s mom, Pattie Malette says of her son’s obvious musical talent. In fact, it was Justin’s neighbor and family friend, Nathan McKay, who saw the potential in Justin’s talent, and encouraged Pattie to buy him a drum kit.
“Where does this talent come from? Does he play drums?” Nathan remembered asking Justin’s mother. “Man you’d better get that kid a kit,” he said.
Justin’s aptitude on the drums inspired a fundraiser for enough money to buy him a professional drum kit.
Though singing songs like ‘Smile’ and ‘Baby,’ earned the pop star incredible popularity, Justin still makes time to bang away on the drums during his sold out concerts.
