If Gwyneth Paltrow’s guest turn on Glee this fall left you hungry for more, have no fear, the movie star is coming back for a two episode arc this spring. Substitute teacher Holly Holiday will be back to teach Sex Ed, and spice up Mr. Shue’s romantic life.
“[Gwyneth] is coming back specifically to date Will [Matthew Morrison],” “Glee” co-creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly in a story first published on Saturday. “Those two have become really good friends in real life and had really good chemistry. She’s coming back as a sex education teacher.”
Paltrow’s guest appearance as a plucky substitute brought in to cover for Shue was charming, funny and unexpectedly tuneful. It fits right in with her new movie, Country Song, in which she plays a country star. Paltrow dropped out of the spotlight for a while to focus on being a mom, but we’ve been glad to see her making more regular appearances on the big and small screen.
Paltrow won’t be the only major guest star on Glee this spring – Justin Bieber is going to be featured in an upcoming episode, and Kristen Chenoweth will be returning as well. Katie Couric will also be guesting on the hit musical show, though the CBS Evening News anchor’s role will be more of a cameo. Apparently she will interview Sue Silvester at some point. Lady Gaga’s latest single, Born This Way, will also be featured in a spring episode revolving around the closeted gay bully, Karofsky.
