It’s an exciting morning to be a part of the Smith household! Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s children, Willow and Jaden, have both been nominated for NAACP Image Awards for their work over the past year.
PEOPLE Magazine reports that Willow has been nominated for ‘Best New Artist’ and in the ‘Outstanding Music Video’ category, for ‘Whip My Hair,’ while her older brother Jaden is competing for the ‘Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture’ trophy for his work in ‘The Karate Kid.’
And his fellow-nominees better watch out – Jaden proved he could kick some butt in the reboot of the classic karate film.
“I trained every day for four months with Master Wu [the film’s fight coordinator], Jaden told PEOPLE during a 2009 interview.
Other notable NAACP Image Award nominees include, Rihanna, Kanye West, Sofia Vergara, Nicki Minaj and Justin Timberlake.
The awards ceremony will be broadcast live March 4, 2011 on Fox, beginning at 8:00 pm (7:00 pm central time).
