The 14-year old star of ‘True Grit,’ Hailee Steinfeld, is one of Hollywood’s fastest rising stars, but she’s not above the occasional scolding from her parents.
“I’m a normal girl. I get in trouble for texting too much and using the computer too late – all kinds of stuff like that,” Hailee told PEOPLE at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.
Taking home the award for ‘Best Young Actress’ Hailee admitted that she’s still getting used to her new role as an award-show favorite. “This is so new to me,” she said. “This is the beginning of it all and this is really exciting for me. I’m really honored to be a part of it.”
She’s also adjusting to having a style team to perfect her red carpet look. “It’s fun and crazy,” Hailee admitted, “because three months ago I would be doing my own hair and makeup and going crazy because I didn’t think it looked good.”
But despite all of Hailee’s new-found attention, the teenager insists she’s still the same girl she was before making it big in show business.
“If anything, the biggest change would be if I were to change, and I wouldn’t let that happen. I have amazing parents who have kept me grounded, and my brother and my whole family and everybody has been so supportive.”
