Elton John and David Furnish are sharing the first photos of their son, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, born via surrogate on Christmas Day 2010 in Los Angeles.
“I’ve never felt anything like it in my life,” Elton told Us Weekly about being able to hold his son for the first time. “You’re so awestruck. What can you say? You take it in. The feeling, the joy, the warmth of his body, his breathing… I will never forget that experience ever.”
Though Elton is currently rehearsing for his upcoming tour, he and David insist they’re going to bring up their son with minimal help.
“We want to be active parents,” David told the Daily Mail.
The proud parents have spent thousands of dollars renovating their home in England in preparation return from Los Angeles with Zachary.
David tells US that Zachary is “a content little guy… He’s very peaceful… He just loves to be nurtured, cuddled, and sung to.”
