The final big casting news for Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise has been announced. The LA Times is reporting that Anne Hathaway will be playing Catwoman and Tom Hardy will be playing the character of Bane in the third installment “The Dark Knight Rises” set to come out on July 20, 2012. This will be Nolans last turn at directing a Batman movie and with this casting he looks to go out with a big bang.

Hathaway will be portraying Selina Kyle who not only serves as the villainess but also as a potential love interest for not only Bruce Wayne but for Batman. Previously played by Michelle Pfieffer in Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns” movie.
Tom Hardy, who recently worked with Nolan on Inception, plays Bane who in the comics was a wrestler who would get insanely strong when he took a steroid type concoction called”Venom.” In the comic books Bane actually ends up breaking the Batman’s back causing Bruce Wayne to step down and a replacement Batman was needed.
Nolan has always put a different spin on his Batman characters so we’ll see hoe different these turn out to be. But get ready for these action figures to be all over the house because this will be the big movie of 2012.
