Talk show star turned network running entertainment mogul, Oprah Winfrey, has brought plenty of families together on her show over the course of the years she’s been on the air. But now, it’s her turn. The hostess will be bringing in a new member of her own family on Monday’s show.
“I thought I’d seen it all. But this, my friends, is the miracle of all miracles,” Winfrey said in show commercials. ”I was given some news that literally shook me to my core. This time, I’m the one being reunited,” she shared. “I was keeping a family secret for months, and on Monday you’re going to hear it straight from me.”
So what’s the big news? If you don’t want us to spoil it, don’t read the below. BlackVoices.com has discovered that Oprah’s big news is that she has discovered that she has a half sister she never knew existed.
Oprah has long believed that she was her parent’s last living child. Her younger siblings, Jeffrey and Patricia, have both passed away. But around Thanksgiving, apparently, Oprah learned that her mother, Vernita Lee, had another daughter, also named Patricia. According to BlackVoices.com’s sources, the two have met and DNA tests have been conducted. The televised introduction is only to introduce her new sister to the world and avoid undue press attention and exploitation.
You’ll have to watch the show for all the details, but early reports indicate that Patricia was put up for adoption by Vernita, which is why Oprah didn’t know she existed.
