Magician David Blaine has pulled off a lot of stunts in his time, and now he can add getting his pregnant fiance to the hospital in the middle of a massive blizzard in time to give birth to the list.
If you’ve missed the memo, New York City is one of the many places in the country that has been blanketed with an enormous amount of snow this month. That’s way, last Wednesday, when Blaine’s baby mama, French model Alizee Guinochet, went into labor, there were no cabs to be had.
The New York Post quoted a source saying, “The doorman and people on the street tried to help him flag down a taxi. But there were absolutely no cars on the road.”
Blaine tried to call a car service, but had no luck. Finally a snow plow run by a private firm rounded the corner and Blaine, ever resourceful in the face of obstetrical, flagged it down. The driver obligingly gave the couple a ride to the hospital, where Guinochet gave birth to a healthy baby girl. The couple isn’t releasing the child’s name, but their reps confirm that mom and baby are just fine.
Blaine and Guinochet got engaged in 2009 after dating for less than a year. They announced their pregnancy in September, and they haven’t set a wedding date but they seem to be busy living happily ever after without one.
