Jarius Wynn’s Wife Gives Birth Just Hours Before The Super Bowl

By Bridget Tyler on February 8th, 2011

Jarius Wynn, defensive end for the Green Bay Packers, got an honor this Sunday that far outshines his new Super Bowl ring.   That honor came with a new title.  Dad.

Martavia Wynn, Jarius’ wife, was out to eat on Saturday with Jarius and some of their family in Dallas when her water broke in the middle of dinner.  She was taken to the hospital, where her husband stayed by her side all night, despite the big day he had coming in the morning.

By early Sunday, the Wynn’s had a son, seven pound, four ounce Jarius Jr.

Jarius got some early practice on the whole new parent, no sleeping, routine as well.  Despite the spare ninety minutes of rest he got that night he played special teams for the Packers and made it to the field for three defensive plays.

The Wynns had settled on Jarius Jr. for a first name months before the birth, but they’re still deciding on Jr.’s middle name.  ”Might be Dallas, might be Aaron,” Jarius Sr. told Yahoo Sports. “I’m thinking about Super, but I’m not sure yet,” he added.

Hopefully, the Wynns will do their new addition a favor, and not saddle him with Jarius Super Wynn.  Playgrounds are cruel, even when your daddy is the defensive end for the Green Bay Packers.
