LA Lakers, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat and SMITM: Feb. 8 – 13

By Jeremy Suede on February 8th, 2011

Another Super Bowl has come and gone.  Another great game featuring big plays and even bigger players.  Super Bowl MVP, Aaron Rogders and his Green Bay Packers came out on top over the Pittsburgh Steelers to win Super Bowl XLV.  Of course, Aaron promptly declared he was “going to Disney World!” and proceeded to do so and hours later was in a parade with Micky Mouse.

It was a great game to watch with very enjoyable commercials to break up the game a little.  A fantastic day for football and a fantastic way to cap off another great football season.  Now all we have is a long off-season that could get longer if the players and owners can’t come to an agreement on things for the next couple years.  Read all about the sticky situation here.

Now that football is done, the rest of the sports world can proceed without any real competition.  The NBA looks to establish its superiority with a bunch of high profile games this week.  The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics are the biggest draws in the NBA and they will capitalize on that with those teams playing each other as well as the other big names in the league.  This is now and NBA world and as we get closer to the playoffs, things will only get better.  Teams will start to show their true form as they get in playoff condition and fringe teams will gain momentum going into the post season and see how long they can carry that wave.

So get ready for a lot of NBA talk and what a better way to start that off than to have a few HUGE matchups this week.  Enjoy!

Top Games To Watch

1. NBA – Los Angeles Lakers at Boston Celtics – Feb. 10 @ 8 pm

Easily the biggest rivalry in the NBA and quite possibly all of sports, these teams have been holding grudge matches for going on 40 years now.  Most recently these teams have met in 2 out of the last 3 NBA Finals with each taking one off the other.  Now they are looking to complete this generation’s rivalry with one more Finals matchup to see who wins best-of-three.  This may just be a regular season matchup but these teams should play with an intensity like it’s the playoffs.  The Celtics spanked the Lakers a few weeks ago in Los Angeles and now the Lakers will be looking to do the same to the Celtics in Boston.  Watch to see Kobe Bryant, Paul Pierce, Pau Gasol, Kevin Garnett, Lamar Odom, Ray Allen, Ron Artest and Rajon Rondo play each other with some actual intensity in a game that actually means something, unlike the upcoming All Star game.  This is a game that can’t be missed so I would make sure to have dinner made and everything set because this is gonna be a good one.

2. NBA – Los Angeles Lakers at New York Knicks – Feb. 11 @ 8 pm

The second night in a row that Kobe and the Lakers are headlining in a marque matchup of basketball giants.  After facing Boston the previous night, they travel to New York to take on the reemerging Knicks being lead by Amare Stoudemire in the fabled (new) Madison Square Garden.  Kobe dropped 61 points in New York on Feb. 2, 2009 (see video) and holds the record for most points there so perhaps Spike Lee can motivate him for a new record.  The Lakers’ intensity will all depend on whether or not they win against Boston in the previous night.  If they had won then they may be a little too tired and not play up to expectations but if they are coming off a loss then look out because Kobe is going to be angry and looking to make a statement.  Will Amare and his Knicks be able to withstand the West Coast’s big team?

3. NBA – Miami Heat at Boston Celtics – Feb. 13 @ 1 pm

The high-powered Miami Heat are next into Boston after Kobe and the Lakers leave.  It’s a good thing the Celtics have a few days rest before this game coming off their win or loss against the Lakers because they will either be celebrating in the streets of Boston or grieving in the Streets of Boston.  Either way they better get over it quick because the Heat are looking to make the presence known by the Celtics and the fans of Boston.  Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh will treat this like a playoff game and bring the highest intensity into this game.  In a week of fantastic NBA games, this is the cherry on top.

Transfer from Fifth Avenue   KELLAND reviews: Paris, like a typical woman, except I installed lipstick and   wallet handbag, my hands and ultimately, only pink Longchamp bags, which not only   incorporated the apple of my laptop, basically do not put other into a small bag of things   together even have won, including: notebook, maps, keys, or even the next day I   went to the fitness center, exercise clothing. It is durable, can hold, color   variety, cool Gouxuan, and do not, can have folded and placed handbag, very   easy, no wonder Paris, regardless of status, regardless of color, a staff Longchamp handbags, there is simply “French Country Package” status. Price is also very approachable,   a little big nylon bag in general more than two thousand dollars, Longchamp   Tote this large only in the thousands up and down, quite a bargain. Look like good-looking, durable   good equipment, and inexpensive, brand impact is large enough … enough …   really, you have no reason not to do with a Longchamp
