Note to self: If you’re drunk – don’t allow your daughter to be the designated driver. Call a Taxi.
This is the probably the weirdest story I’ve heard all week. (And it’s been a Charlie Sheen week!)
Last May, Audrey Willoughby, 33 found herself in a predicament. After a party, she found that she was too drunk to drive. Her boyfriend Michael Ray Green, was also too drunk.
How did they resolve the situation? – By allowing their 10 year old to drive.
What makes this story worse is that the boyfriend, the mother and 8 year old brother of the daughter got in the backseat together and left their daughter alone in the front seat to drive the Toyota Corolla by herself. After pulling into traffic, the little girl panicked and hit the accelerator instead of the brakes. She ended up plowing into three cars and eventually driving into a house.
Nobody was injured.
When caught, Willoughby told police that she was giving her daughter a little driving lesson.

Willoughby pleaded no contest Monday to child abuse charges and faces 18 months in prison. At first I wasn’t sure about the child abuse charges. But when you think about the fact that she went to the back of the car AND her daughter now has to face the guilt of putting her mother in jail – I think the charges very much fit the crime!
