Cats are cute. Dolphins are cute. When they make friends and snuggle, they’re impossibly adorable. This video of Arthur the cat and two dolphin residents of the Theater of the Sea, Shiloh and Thunder, isn’t new. It was taken in the mid 90’s. But it was only posted on YouTube last month and, not too surprisingly, it’s a viral hit.
Arthur was one of many cats who lived in the Theater by the Sea facility, apparently, and he often visited with the dolphins during the swim encounters that the trainers there ran for tourists. Beverley Osborne, who was a dolphin trainer when the video was taken and is now curator at Theater of the Sea, said Arthur always looked forward to the swim programs and the arrival of dolphins at the shoreline floats. “That was his area and he was there for every program,” Osborne told GrindTV.com. “He’d walk toward the dolphins when they’d arrive but the dolphins would come over to him, too. But he was very friendly with Thunder and Shiloh during that particular session.”
