“I won’t say goodbye. I’ll just say, Until we meet again.”
Those were the last words spoken on the iconic “The Oprah Winfrey Show” during its finale episode on Wednesday. The show may be over, but Oprah isn’t leaving the spotlight for a behind the scenes role at her new network, OWN.
“She is going to dedicate herself to her new network and do whatever needs to be done to make sure it’s a huge hit,” a co-worker of Oprah’s told Rob Shuter of PopEater. “If this means bringing her own show back to life on her network then she will. I can’t imagine that she won’t be back on the air before the end of the year.”
OWN has been struggling since it launched earlier this year, but with Oprah at the reins personally now, hopefully things will start to pick up. Oprah herself was very careful to imply that she might be back in her finale speech.
“This last hour is really about me saying thank you. It is my love letter to you. I want to leave you all with the lessons that have been the anchor for my life and the ones that I hold most precious.”
Now, according to Shuter’s sources, Oprah is starting to consider what she’ll say on her first OWN based episode.
