Most of you remember Layla Grace as the lovable two year-old who touched our hearts with her story about how she battled stage 4 high risk Neuroblastoma (Cancer). @LaylaGrace had more than 40,000 followers on her Twitter account, managed by her mother. In her last tweet, Layla’s mother wrote, “Layla went to play with the angels early this morning. Rest in peace precious Layla. 11/26/2007 – 3/9/2010.”

As of late, Layla’s condition worsened, but her mother continued updating the Twitterverse on her daughters status. Layla’s following continued to grow online, while more mom blogs, celebrities and friends responded to the updates on Twitter.

Star of “18 Kids and Counting” Michelle Duggar gave birth to number 19 today. The 42 year-old mom had an emergency C-section this morning after being in the hospital this past weekend for gallstones. The baby, Josie Brooklyn, arrived three months early after being due March 18th 2010.

At 1 pound and 6 ounces the newest Duggar is in stable condition, however doctors fear she might face future health problems with her small size.

On the TLC website the network had this to say “Michelle is resting comfortably, and baby is stable and in the NICU for extended care.” Doctors also say that once the baby is able to breathe on her own, they will release her for the NICU extended care unit.

In what could be the most disastrous reality show of all-time, former producers of Jerry Springer and Cheaters are pitching John and Octomom Plus 22. The news comes just weeks after Kate signed on for another season without her divorced husband. Octomom, who will be releasing her own book in the coming months, was rumored to have said Jon Gosselin is “hot.”

Gosselin’s rep has denied the rumors that Jon will be doing the show and that the two reality show stars have no relationship whatsoever. Octomom has yet to respond to the offer, but will likely decline after denying her comments about Jon.

Critics believe this show would never work due to the contractual obligations Jon has with TLC. Although, he will not be a regular on the show, it’s likely TLC will not let him do anything similar.

Still, it’s fun to dream, isn’t it?

Kate Gosselin has decided not to bicker with her former husband Jon and instead focus all her energy on the kids. She appeared on ABC’s “The View” this morning and talked about how she’s been dealing with her very public divorce.

When asked how she felt about the various women linked to her ex-husband, Kate responded truthfully and eloquently, “I’m not going to lie, this is difficult. You have seen me react … You’ll continue to see me react…For the sake of my children, I’m going to continue to take the high road. It is not easy. I melted down over the weekend in the privacy of my own home.”

Kate definitely got the short end of the stick in this relationship. From the accusations of her beating her kids to the now infamous feud with “Octomom,” she’s a former reality star who is visibly hurting. Unfortunately, these TV conglomerates are unable to provide their reality show stars a blueprint for what happens after the camera turns off. Often times, you hear of heartbreak, confusion and bitter breakups. You even sometimes wonder what would have happened if there was no “Jon and Kate Plus 8″

The popular pets have already come out in Phoenix, AZ and are expected to make their national debut shortly. Sold at Walmart, Toys-R-Us and Amazon.com, these hamsters might be the “Tickle Me Elmo” of the holiday season.

Kate Gosselin went on the Today Show this morning and for the first time since her divorce talked about her current situation. She became emotional when talking about how her divorce has affected her children and how it has been difficult for her to break the news. She emphasized the point that she’d like this process to be gradual, ultimately making it easier on the kids.

After watching the interview, it really looked like Kate was the one that wanted this relationship to work. She seems distraught over the events that transpired and even admitted still loving the “old Jon.”

Jon, who seemed to rebound nicely and quickly from the divorce, looks happier than ever. From the overseas trips with his 22 year-old girlfriend to the parties in the Hamptons with LiLo’s dad. It will be interesting to see how the two are able to work from this unfortunate situation.

Apparently babies must be wearing shoes when they go to Burger King. This was the case after a 6 month-old was kicked out of a Missouri Burger King for not wearing any shoes. The manager said it was against health code and that the mother needed to take the food to go.

After the incidentBurger King published a statement apologizing for the guest’s experience and noted that this location was independently owned.

Regardless of who operated the restaurant, it’s sad to see managers take policies into their own hands and refuse service to their customers. Especially in an economy where competition is cutthroat and customers demand actual service.

OK Magazine just released the first pictures of Djimon, Kenzo and Kimora together. Kimora’s two other daughters from her previous marriage to hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons are also in the spread.

Although her reality show “Life in the Fab Lane” is on hold, you can expect to see more updates of the model turned businesswoman via her twitter @kimoraleesimmon.

Police in Tulare, CA may have gone too far after shutting down a 7 year-old’s lemonade stand for not having a business permit. Daniella Earnest decided to have a lemonade stand on a busy intersection, so that she could save up money for her and her family to go to Disneyland. However, local authorities said that it is illegal to have a stand anyplace beyond her front yard.

Determined to sell lemonade, Daniela and her father took their appeal to town hall, where the city officials tried to work out a comprise with the young girl.

In the end, Daniela was able to reach her goal after a local radio station purchased 30 glasses of lemonade and paid her via four tickets to Disneyland.

In cases like these you have to wonder how much of a real threat is a young girl’s lemonade stand to the city codes. Yes their are laws set in place, but I think they overreacted by shutting the stand down.

In Harangal, India, men at a Muslim shrine toss babies off a 50 foot building onto a cloth sheet that catches the flying infant. The annual ritual takes place in a small village and parents of the babies tossed believe it will their child stronger.

The 500 year-old tradition is said to be more than safe for the children involved, and locals reveal that no child has ever been harmed.

The practice is pretty unbelievable and almost unbearable to watch. The fact that these babies are being thrown from such a high point makes it hard to believe that none have ever been hurt. One wrong movement by the baby in midair and it could be fatal.

The FDA warns consumers to not purchase or use Clarcon products, noting that since 2007 there are approximately 800,000 bottles in circulation.

FDA Director Deborah M. Autor made it clear that these products are harmful and that consumers should avoid them if at all possible. She also took a a big stand against Clarcon and the importance of industry standards. “The FDA is committed to taking enforcement action against firms that do not manufacture drugs in accordance with our current good manufacturing practice requirements.”

Joshua, who’s the eldest of the Duggar 18, is the also the first one to have a child. Both Josh and Anna will appear on Fox News’ Huckabee show telling the whole world about their exciting news.

One thing they wanna make clear to their fans is that they are not a “Jon and Kate Plus 8.” One would assume similarities between the two, but in actuality they are two totally different types of couples. This probably won’t stop the press from publishing fabricated stories though.

For Jackson’s children this whole experience must’ve been more than tragic. At 12, 11 and 7 years-old, one could only imagine the hurt pain going on in these children’s minds. Watching their father day in and day out on the news being ridiculed for his greatness is not easy to deal with, even as an adult.

The best thing to come out of this situation is the fact that Mrs. Jackson will be the primary guardian for the children. That is Michael wanted it and I’m sure she will do her best to keep them out of the spotlight.

Jon Gosselin was back at his Pennsylvania home this week, spending time with the kids. Apparently TLC cameras were rolling as they documented the father of 8 do a scavenger hunt with the kids. As of late, Gosselin has been making headlines with news of engagements and overseas trips to the South of France.

Gosselin says all this paparazzi attention and unwanted publicity is too much. “It’s crazy…I don’t want Mady and Cara Googling me, and I have to explain a photo and lose trust between my children.”

Kate, who was nowhere to be found when Jon made his way back to their $1.1 million dollar home in Pennsylvania, is probably taking a break from the media hoopla. With talks of Octomom getting her own show, the hype of Jon and Kate may die down soon enough and Jon will get his wish.

The current population of China is 1.3 Billion, but officials are afraid that the younger generation won’t be enough to take care of the current aging generation. Predictions show that China’s elderly population will grow 34% by 2020.

In rural areas, families were allowed two children if the first was a girl. This law will be up for debate after this recent reversal.

As large as China is, I don’t think they will ever be in shortage of people. However, I do like this new law and am interested to see how their population climbs.

The man who just can’t seem to keep his business out of tabloids might be dating “the enemy.” Tabloid reporter Kate Major has been romantically linked to Gosselin and even reported saying that she “fell for him.” Gosselin, who recently moved to New York, is engaged to Hailey Glassman. The 22 year-old Glassman also moved up to New York to be closer to Jon.

This story keeps on getting weirder because Jon keeps on adding more women to the mix. I can’t imagine what the original Kate’s going through. She’s still stuck with the kids. This playboy lifestyle that Jon is leading will soon catch up to him. He should try to stick to one mate at a time.

The eight kids must also be a little shellshocked about not having their dad around. It’s not my business to pry (actually it is), but every other week this guy is on vacation or seen with some young college coeds. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the primary choice for ABC’s The Bachelor.

A voluntary recall of Romaine Lettuce has been issued by Tanimura & Antle Inc. a Salinas, California based company, that tested positive for Salmonella. The Lettuce had been distributed to 29 states for mostly wholesalers and food service operations.

As of late, it seems as though Salmonella has been the culprit of many different factories and foods. Just a few weeks ago there was a nationwide recall on Malt-O-Meal Oatmeal after a dairy farm company reported Salmonella on their machines.

Even though it is difficult to ensure that each and every item a company sells is without contamination, parents should keep up to date with what recall trends are going around and how best to prevent their child from acquiring these contaminations.

J-Lo is currently filming her newest movie “Back-up Plan”, where she plays a single woman who gets in-vitro fertilization. No this isn’t the autobiography of Octomom, but with all the press around this controversial procedure, it will be a good spotlight on this issue.

Lopez, who turns 40 tomorrow, is working on her first film since she herself gave birth to twins last year. Admittingly she says she was nervous on returning to the big screen, but having her babies alongside her for support was all she could ask for.

Only a month after their divorce “Octodad” Jon Gosselin moved out of the house, married a 22 year-old and got some new digs in New York City. It almost seems like he had this all planned out before his seperation with Kate. Hailey Glassman, Gosselin’s fiance also moved to New York, just 10 minutes away from her future husband.

One must wonder, where the kids and Kate are in all this. I know they have the house in Pennsylvania, but it is unclear how custody arrangements will work. I’m not sure if Jon’s apartment can handle four kids, let alone eight at a time.

It seems like media outlets are now interested in how the fans are reacting to Jon and Kate’s situation. Who’s the good guy and who’s the bad guy. From all the media attention on Octodad, you would think he’s a rolling stone that abandoned his kids for a bachelor’s life. As for Kate, she continues to be targeted in the news for spanking and badly disciplining her children in some way. Looks like all that fame may not have been worth it after all.

Today, the FDA announced that this year’s seasonal flu vaccine has been approved and will be available to consumers in September. With the rise of the Swine flu in the Spring and Summer, health officals have been working on a vaccine that will prevent this horrid sickness.

The FDA projects the Swine Flu vaccine or H1N1 to be available by mid-October. It will be a busy season for Flu Vaccine due to the various strains going around this year.

Doctors advise that children and senior citizens should be first priority for vaccinations. They are at higher risk and and more vulnerable if contracted.

Lilly, the six-month old, five legged Chihuahua was saved this past week from a Coney Island freak show after a North Carolina woman decided to pay the shady company $4,000. New Yorkers rejoiced in this woman’s act of heroism and rewarded her in various ways.

The biggest reward came through veterinarian Dr. Neil Shaw, who offered a free removal of Lilly’s fifth leg at his hospital. The procedure that would normally cost $2,000 is being offered to the six-week old Chihuahua out of love.

Nicknamed “Lucky Little Lilly,” the adorable Chihuahua will no longer have to work under the unbearable restraints that come with a freak show. Instead she will be cared for by people that love her.

Invitro fertilization continues to be a controversial issue for woman who can’t have kids. Some say examples such as Octomom and Brousada are whats wrong with this medical procedure.
